FAQ

How many stops are planned during your trip to the Gulf of Orosei?

The mini cruise aboard the Pegaso includes 3 stops on various beaches + a visit to the Grotte del Bue Marino (which is optional and possible on the first service that departs at 10:00am)

Take a look at the ”Mini cruise in the Gulf” section or scroll through our article describing ”A typical day on the Pegaso”

We have booked an excursion but the weather isn’t looking excellent. Can we change the date?

If you have booked the excursion but the weather conditions do not seem convincing, we kindly ask you to still come to the meeting point at the scheduled time, which is 45 minutes before departure, so that you can evaluate together with the staff whether the Mini Cruise can take place.

If the Mini Cruise is cancelled by the organization due to unsuitable weather conditions, you may choose between:
• a refund of the amount paid, which will be processed within 7–15 working days, or
• changing the date to take the excursion on another day.

If, however, the cancellation is requested by the customer less than 3 days before the start of the excursion, the ticket will not be refundable and will be considered lost.

In case of adverse weather conditions at sea, will the outing proceed anyway?

In case of adverse weather conditions anticipated by the weather forecast, we will be sure to advise you on how you can move your reservation to the next available day. Should this be unsuitable for your requirements, you can opt to receive a full refund of your booking deposit.

How does lunch work?

During the excursion, lunch is not served on board, but it can be eaten on the beach during the stop.

You have several options:
• Bring your own food from home and consume it freely on the beach.
• Purchase food and drinks directly on board and then take them with you to the beach during the stop.
• Request a packed lunch in advance, available in a simple or more complete version, to pick up and eat on the beach.

During the navigation it is still possible to purchase and consume food and drinks inside the boat.

Are there bins on the beaches?

After our stop at the beach, we must not leave any sign that we have been there. Aboard the Pegaso, you will find an efficient rubbish sorting system which we will later dispose of properly once we have returned to port.

Is it cold in the caves? Can I do the tour in flip-flops?

The temperature in the Grotta del Bue Marino is around 16-18 degrees. We recommend that you wear a t-shirt, especially if you have just eaten, as there is a marked difference in temperature between inside and outside the cave, especially in August. The path is easy to walk and you can walk it in flip-flops. However, we would not recommend going barefoot

Can I bring my dog on the excursion?

Unfortunately, starting this season, pets are no longer allowed on board the Pegaso.
This decision was made to ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers.
We also remind you that pets are not allowed on the beaches along this stretch of the Baunei Coast.

Are the beaches fine sand? Does the water become deep immediately?

The beaches on the Gulf of Orosei all have a different shoreline composition. As for the places we will be stopping at, at Cala Luna you will find a mixture of fine sand and pebbles. At Cala Gabbiani and Cala Mariolu, you will find the chalky grit typical of Ispuligidenie. In any case, we recommend that anyone who has sensitive feet should bring rock or jelly shoes with them.

Can we travel with babies? Can we bring the pram/pushchair onto the beach?

The Pegaso is the perfect boat for families with children - even very young ones - thanks to the wide open spaces, toilet facilities and shaded lower deck, which means that you can get out of the sun whenever you want to during the journey. The seats are numbered and you will always find somewhere to sit during the mini cruise. It is best to leave any prams or pushchairs aboard the boat before going down to the beach, as there are no walkways in the coves.

Is there a limit to the baggage and beach gear we can bring aboard?

There is no limit to what you can bring aboard the Pegaso during your excursion. That said, please consider that the rules of common sense apply in this situation. We recommend that you travel light so that every stop on the beach doesn’t feel like moving house. You can bring your beach equipment and umbrellas with you.

Do children have to pay for a ticket?

We offer reductions for families with children. Up to the age of 2, children can come aboard for free. Between 3 and 8 years old, we offer reductions of up of 60% which vary according to the seasons.
